Uzbekistan and Austria are planning to sign an intergovernmental agreement on labor migration, reports Podrobno.uz..

The head of the Agency for External Labor Migration, Behzod Musaev, and representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs held negotiations in Austria. During meetings with representatives of Austria’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labor and Economy, and Ministry of Education, issues of developing partnerships for employing Uzbeks were discussed.

The document is expected to create conditions for the organized recruitment of Uzbek citizens for high-paying jobs in Austria and the implementation of joint projects.

Additionally, the delegation met with the Deputy Director of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO), Astrid Fiksl-Pummer. The main topic of discussion was attracting Uzbek specialists to Austrian companies.

In April, WKO will open a representative office in Tashkent. As part of the ceremony, a labor forum with the participation of major Austrian employers is planned.

Previously, Uzbekistan signed a labor migration agreement with Germany. The document envisages sending nurses, railway specialists, and bus drivers to work in Germany. Their minimum monthly salary will not be less than €2,200.
