Meta* announced the release of Llama* 4, its latest family of artificial intelligence models, which are already operating in popular apps — WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. Two models, Llama 4 Scout and Llama 4 Maverick, are available for download on the Llama website and the Hugging Face platform, as well as integrated into Meta AI, the company’s virtual assistant. The third model, Behemoth*, is still in training but promises even greater capabilities.
Llama 4* represents a step forward in the development of open-source AI. Scout* and Maverick* can process text, images, and other data, making communication in messengers smarter and more convenient. For example, they can help compose messages or find information in a chat. In the USA, these models already support multimodal functions — working with various types of data simultaneously — but in other countries, they are currently limited to text.
Meta AI* with Llama 4* is now available in 40 countries, including the web version. The models are currently free for developers, but their license restricts commercial use.
