HONOR is preparing to launch a new budget gaming smartphone—GT Pro. According to insider Digital Chat Station, the device will feature the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and is positioned as a direct competitor to RedMagic 10 Pro and ROG Phone 9, but at a much more affordable price.
The smartphone will be equipped with a flat AMOLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The battery is promised to be powerful—5300 mAh, with fast charging of 90 W. This is slightly less than last year’s GT model, but improvements are expected in other aspects.
The previous HONOR GT model was sold in China for 2199 yuan (~$299), already offering top-notch hardware at an accessible price. If GT Pro retains this approach, the new device might become a hit among gamers who don’t require the ROG or RedMagic brands but prioritize power and battery life.
The release date has not yet been announced, but leaks suggest the wait won’t be long.
