According to Digital Trends, this innovation, described as a “breakthrough” by Microsoft experts, will allow users to communicate with the AI in natural Spanish with a native-like accent.
The new voices, named Elm and Alder, automatically recognize when a user speaks in Spanish and respond accordingly. This is not just translation, but a fully-fledged interaction that accounts for cultural nuances. According to Microsoft’s product manager, this feature opens opportunities for language learning, communication in multilingual regions, and strengthening cultural ties. The function will operate across all platforms—from PCs to mobile devices.
