On April 28, 2025, the delegation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in the International Forum «Great Heritage – Common Future» held in the city of Volgograd, organized by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Russia and Belarus. The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
During the first session «Remember and Safeguard the Common Historical Memory» a member of the Turkmen delegation noted the importance of positive international initiatives of Turkmenistan to strengthen peace and trust, as well as the activities carried out to ensure equitable social development in our country, whose status of permanent neutrality has been recognized three times by the United Nations.
During the section was emphasized that the work of the Forum, held in the city of Volgograd, Russian Federation, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, is an effective platform for discussing important issues of our time – social development and the parliamentary movement for justice, and that inter-parliamentary relations contribute to familiarity with the achievements of countries of the world in various fields and the exchange of experience.
