Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin shared a key lesson that shaped his career.
“It wasn’t from a coach, but from a player, and it happened during one of my first training sessions when I started practicing with Shakhtar’s first team. You understand—you’re a young guy, 17 years old, everything feels different, it’s a new level, new quality of players, and you feel anxious.
I wasn’t performing well in training, and an experienced player really called me out. But after training, he came over and said he didn’t mean to offend me. He explained that this is how things work at this level—either you handle the pressure, or someone else will. That’s when I realized I had to drop my worries and become better,” Trubin shared in the “Trubin+Athletes” project.
It was reported that Benfica is grateful to Trubin for helping secure a title for the team.
