The representative of the country’s Democratic Party, Li Çže Mýon, has become the new President of the Republic of Korea. He won the short-term elections that were held after the dismissal of the former Head of State, Yun Sok Ýol. This was reported by the country’s Central Election Committee.
According to official results, the elected President Li received 49.42% of the votes. His main opponent, the People Power Party’s candidate, Kim Mun Su, received 41.15% of the votes.
