Wheat Sowing Has Begun in Turkmenistan

On June 4, Turkmenistan launched this year’s wheat sowing season, an important phase in the country’s agricultural work.

At the Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on May 29, our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave the green light to start the important agricultural season and wished the farmers new successes in their wheat fields. Consequently, grain growers in the Ahal, Lebap, and Mary regions began the harvest season. On June 11, farmers from the Balkan and Dashoguz regions also joined this significant effort.

This year, the goal set for the country’s grain farmers is to harvest 1,400,000 tonnes of white wheat from 690,000 hectares allocated for cultivation, including 400,000 tonnes in Ahal, 345,000 tonnes in Mary, 310,000 tonnes in Lebap, 265,000 tonnes in Dashoguz, and 80,000 tonnes in Balkan.
