TSMC accelerates the construction of the third factory in Arizona, where it is planned to issue chips for 2-nm technology process. Earlier it was expected that production would begin closer to the end of the decade, but now a possible start is scheduled for 2027.
The company has already built two enterprises in Arizona: one produces 4-nm chips, the other is preparing for the production of 3-nm processors. The first plant, according to reports, already supplies products to companies such as Apple and NVIDIA. The second object began to be erected in July, and now the line of the third came up – with the designation P3.
According to sources from Taiwan, TSMC plans to choose a contractor for the new plant until the end of 2025. Thanks to the experience accumulated during the construction of the first two factories, the deadlines can be reduced – up to a year, which almost corresponds to the rate of construction in Taiwan.
