Mark Zuckerberg said that the company creates a “multi-gigavatt clusters” of a record scale. In order to save time and money, instead of traditional buildings, rapidly far -made structures are used – in fact, tents.
The first Date Center “Prometheus” will work 1 GW with a capacity of 1 GW in 2026. The plans include an even larger project – “Hyperion”, which will require up to 5 GW of energy.
In the amount, *Meta intends to build a data center with a part of Manhattan to create “titanic clusters” for future AI models.
The purpose of all this is simple – to ensure “more computing power per researcher than any other company,” Tsuckerberg emphasized.
At the same time, *Meta changes the traditional approach: in the new centers they refuse reserve generators, build their own substations, use modular cooling systems and local gas power plants.
