Microsoft, together with the National Laboratory of Aidaho (INL), began to work on a project that will allow artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate the preparation of documents in obtaining permits for the construction and operation of nuclear power plants in the United States.
For this, artificial intelligence will analyze a huge array of successfully testing applications and use this data for automatic preparation of complex reports on engineering calculations and safety precautions. Typically, such documents occupy hundreds of pages and require significant labor costs.
The materials obtained using artificial intelligence will be created for further refinement of a person. Experts will be able to independently edit individual sections either with the help of AI or manually, which will maintain control over the process.
The initiative appeared after the decrees signed in May President Donald Trump, which are aimed at reducing a long and complex process of licensing new nuclear stations. Previously, receiving permits could take several years.
