The 42-year-old Polish programmer Pshemislav Dambyak, known as Psyho, defeated the prestigious Atcoder World Tour Finals 2025 in Tokyo. This competition is considered one of the most difficult in the world in the field of programming. Only 12 best programmers at the invitation participate in it.
The main sensation was that Pshymislav bypassed not only all participants, but also specially prepared ChatGPT. The gap in the results between it and artificial intelligence amounted to almost 10%.
The competition lasted 10 hours and required the participants in solving the most difficult tasks for optimization without hint and ready -made solutions. After the end of the tournament, Dambyak wrote: “Humanity won (so far)!”
Interestingly, the winner has no higher education and he never worked for hiring. In his youth, he dreamed of becoming a superhero, a DJ or even a professional poker player. Nevertheless, he became one of the strongest programmers of the world and repeatedly won in international competitions.
The Pole’s victory was noted even by the head of OpenAi Sam Altman, writing on social networks: “Great work, Psyho”.
