Xiaomi is preparing to release the Redmi K90 smartphone, which can become the most affordable device with the flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Elite.
According to Chinese sources, the novelty will receive a chipset with the proprietary Oryon nuclei and a 3 Nm technology process from TSMC, similar to what is used in the top models of other brands.
However, the price of the device will be only about 2500 yuan (about $ 350), which makes it the cheapest smartphone with this chip. To keep the price at this level, Xiaomi will probably go to certain compromises.
In particular, a simplified display and less advanced cameras are expected compared to the flagships of the Xiaomi line. Nevertheless, buyers will be able to get a high level of performance and energy efficiency thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The announcement of the smartphone is expected in the fall, after the next generation exit Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2.
