Russian Superjet airliners will soon receive domestic PD-8 engines. As the Minister of Industry and Trade said Anton Alikhanov, the first supplies for serial machines will begin in the spring of 2026.
Certification tests of the new engine should end until the end of 2025. The minister reported this during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin. PD-8 will become a key element of a fully imported version of the Superjet aircraft.
Earlier Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reportedthat the process of certification of Russian aircraft with fully import substitution components is close to completion. We are talking about models MS-21, Superjet and the regional IL-114. According to him, these aircraft are at the final stage of registration of all the necessary documents and inspections. The prototype IL-114 has recently been demonstrated at Koltsovo Airport.
