In Russia, a heavy drill -type drone called “Ilya Muromets” is being developed for quick evacuation of seriously wounded from the battlefield, TASS writes. This was told by the executive director of the design bureau “Spectrum” Andrei Bratenkov.
The drone will be able to transport up to 100 kg of cargo – they plan to place the wounded in special containers from light composite materials with life support systems. Such containers have already been prepared for use in the zone of it.
To protect against enemy radars and air defense systems, the drone is created using stealth technologies and special polymer coating, which will reduce its visibility in the radar and in the infrared spectrum. In addition, the device will receive navigation, which will allow you to bypass dangerous areas, work in conditions of electronic warfare and avoid defeat.
An experimental sample is being prepared now, and soon it is planned to coordinate its test flights with the Federal Air Transport Agency. In the future, the drone will be able to improve by increasing the carrying capacity to 200 kg.
