The US authorities decided to temporarily soften the restrictions on the export of technology to China so as not to interfere with the conduct of trade negotiations with Beijing. This was reported by the newspaper Financial Times with reference to sources familiar with the situation.
According to the publication, the US Department of Trade has been recommended in recent months to refrain from making strict decisions regarding the Chinese side. This decision is connected with the attempts of President Donald Trump to make contact with the President of China Xi Jinping and to achieve a new meeting this year.
Meanwhile, American and Chinese economic representatives should resume discussions in Stockholm. Their goal is to resolve long -standing disagreements that caused a protracted trade conflict between the two largest economies in the world.
At the same time, NVIDIA announced the resumption of the supply of H20 G20 graphic processors to China. These chips previously fell under an export ban on national security reasons, but now their return is considered as part of wider agreements, including rare -earth elements and magnets.
