More than 7 million Russians voluntarily registered in a single biometric system (EBS), said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko. Over the past year, the number of users has increased almost four times – from 1.8 million in July 2024.
According to the government, citizens used biometric services over 100 million times. The most popular payment of purchases and travel, registration of SIM cards, banking operations and protection of the account on the Public Service portal are most popular.
The center of biometric technologies noted that up to 40 thousand people are registered daily in the system. This is five times more than a year ago. The EBS mobile application downloaded more than 3 million times.
The growth of the popularity of the system is associated with the expansion of the capabilities of remote receipt of services without the need for personal visits to organizations.
