The Russian Messenger Max received an update with new functions for working with documents and payments. Developers from Smart Engines have created a module based on artificial intelligence, which allows you to scan passports, bank cards, QR codes and other documents directly in the application.
The main feature of the technology is complete autonomy. All data is processed directly on the user device, without sending to cloud services. This reduces the risk of information leakage. The module works even in poor lighting, the handwritten text and partially damaged QR codes recognize.
Banks, marketplaces and other services will be able to integrate this function into their mini-applications inside the Max. This will allow users, for example, to pay for purchases, book tickets or check documents without leaving the messenger.
The developers used super -weary neural networks, which work 40% faster than standard solutions and do not require powerful equipment. The system also knows how to compare the user’s face with a photograph in the passport, but without preserving biometric data.
SMART Engines technology is already included in the register of Russian software.
