The Director of the White House scientific and technical policy department, Michael Krazius, performed in a speech in the city of Ichon in South Korea at the Global Forum on Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence. This is a ministerial meeting in the framework of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
According to Kramzius, the United States is actively working on the introduction of innovations in the field of artificial intelligence and promoting the concept of “AI-Diplomatia”. According to him, Trump signed a number of decrees aimed at the ban on the procurement of AI models based “on ideological prejudices”, as well as to stimulate the export of American technologies in this area. Artificial intelligence is seen as an instrument of bilateral diplomacy, which helps to strengthen friendly relations and the development of innovation.
Kramzius emphasized that the US administration believes that AI opens a new era in industry, information technology and culture. At the same time, APEC provides an opportunity to activate cooperation and development in the Asia-Pacific region through the use of AI.
Kramzius said that the states are ready to offer “export packages”, including hardware, data storage systems, cloud services, networks, security systems and applications for various industries. These are systems that are completely ready to deploy any complexity.
In addition, according to Kramzius, the Trump administration seeks to reduce state regulation in the field of artificial intelligence, creating a space for competition and creativity. The official assured that the United States support the development and implementation of open artificial intelligence models and the corresponding infrastructure.
