The press service of the Novosibirsk State University (NSU) reported that scientists have developed an intellectual platform that analyzes the images obtained using microscopy. The technology is based on methods of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI).
Development includes cloud services for automatic analysis of pictures. Three tools are available to users: recognition of nanoparticles, training in the neural network for specific tasks and adjusting the results. The system determines the quantity, size, area and concentration of objects on images.
The platform works with different types of pictures – from electronic microscopes to ordinary photos from smartphones. It recognizes nanoparticles, cells, microorganisms, plants and even larger objects, for example, transport. At the same time, the user does not require programming or pre -processing skills.
As noted at NSU, the service is already used by hundreds of researchers around the world. He is especially in demand among specialists working with microscopy.
The platform was presented at the International Congress in Malaysia.
