The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant launched a new area of laser cutting of metal for the production of body parts. The technology will improve product quality and increase the production of UAZ Pikap and UAZ Profi models with a double cabin by 30%.
The modern laser complex specializes in the manufacture of complex 3D deals, including sidewalls, sides and roof panels. The use of oxygen in the cutting process provides high quality edges and improves the characteristics of finished products.
Now the equipment works in test mode, but will soon go into industrial operation. Integrated programming systems significantly accelerate production processes and increase their effectiveness.
According to the chief technologist of UAZ Vitaly Sertz, the introduction of new technologies corresponds to the enterprise strategy to modernize production and improve the quality of the manufactured cars.
