The Kursk region launched the 500th base station Rostelecom

Rostelecom launched the 500th base station to improve communication in rural areas. This is part of a large project that helps to make the Internet accessible to everyone – a project to eliminate digital inequality (UDC).

The anniversary base station is installed in the village of Petrovo-Khutar of the Kursk region. The project is financed by the state, and Rostelecom implements it. The mobile operator T2 helps with the technical part.

Acting Governor of the Kursk Region Alexander Khinshtein and the Deputy Minister of Digital Development of Russia Andrei Zaninin made the first call from the new station. President of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky also participated in a conversation.

Khinshtein noted that the project will continue, and soon a good mobile communications and the Internet will appear in rural areas. This will give residents new opportunities and will help them be part of the digital world.

The President of Rostelecom emphasized that the new station provides excellent quality of communication.

“In the village of Petrovo-Khutar (Cheremesinovsky district of the Kursk region), a jubilee 500th base stations from the Bulat company was built as part of the second stage of the project to eliminate digital inequality (UDSN 2.0). The project on a state contract from the Ministry of Construction of Russia is implemented by Rostelecom with the technical support of the T2 mobile operator, ”said the press service of Rostelecom.
