The Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU) implements an interdisciplinary project to create modern implants. To work on promising developments, the university united specialists from different fields-doctors, engineers, mathematicians, 3D models and IT experts.
According to Svetlana Mustafina, Chairman of the State Committee for Science, the University actively introduces advanced technologies into medical practice. Particular attention is paid to the creation of 3D-implants, including biocompatible bone prostheses that take root well in the body.
The university uses the possibilities of an additive technology laboratory located in the inter -university campus. In addition to developing new implants, the university continues the production of eye crystals, combining medical knowledge with engineering solutions.
Earlier in the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Reportedthat scientists of the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology (MIET) have developed innovative coatings for medical implants in contact with blood. The new material imitates the properties of the natural vascular endothelium, reducing the risk of thrombosis.
