Samsung will increase the share of its LPDDR5X memory in the Galaxy S25 to 60%

Samsung will increase its own LPDR5X memory for smartphones of the Galaxy S25 series, reducing the fraction of supplies from Micron from 60% to 40%. Previously, Micron provided most of these components due to Samsung problems with the output of suitable chips and heating control.

Difficulties were associated with the 10-nm fifth generation (1B) of the process on which LPDDR5X-memory is produced. Due to the low performance and overheating, Samsung was unable to fulfill the requirements of her mobile unit in time. Now, according to industry sources, the company has improved the situation and is able to provide 60% of the needs for the Galaxy S25 on its own.

Estimates show that 22.2 million Galaxy S25 devices will receive a memory produced by Samsung, and 14.8 million – Micron chips. Despite the reduction in volumes, Micron is still a key partner and will take a significant share in deliveries.
