Specialists of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor created the world’s first test to quickly detect a dangerous fungal disease – invasive aspergillis. Development allows you to detect the Aspergillus Niger pathogen in sputum in just 40 minutes.
The new diagnostic method is highly accurate and is able to identify even minimal fungal concentrations. This is especially important, since the symptoms of the disease are often non -specific, and the timely detection of infection is critical of effective treatment.
Aspergillus is caused by molds that are widespread in the environment. They can affect the light, subordinate sinuses of the nose, and in severe cases, other organs, including the brain and liver.
The institute is ready to produce up to a million test systems annually. The development was conducted as part of the federal project “Sanitary Shield of the country”.
