The SevastopolMedia news agency reports that the process of drying of hypersonal lakes is recorded in Crimea, characterized by excess of normative indicators of salinity. Hypersalinization was recorded by specialists of the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas in Sevastopol.
According to scientists, the content of salt in the hypericular reservoirs of the region exceeds 177 g/liter, while the average lake salinity in August is 70 g/liter. Studies cover the lakes of the Tarkhankut group: Jarylgach, Yarylgach, Bakalskoye, as well as the Oybursk Lake, located in the immediate vicinity of the settlements of Popovka and Stormovoye. All these reservoirs are located in the western part of the peninsula.
According to the source, on August 11 of this year, a planned summer expedition was carried out in order to monitor the environmental condition of water bodies. Visual and instrumental observations were carried out, biological samples were selected for subsequent laboratory analysis at the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas.
The head of the expedition Nikolai Shadrin noted the inconsistency of the current state of reservoirs to previously observed parameters. And he emphasized that the researchers were humanly upset because of what they saw. “We were upset what we saw. Accordingly, the biological state of reservoirs is not the one that we are accustomed to, ”said Shadrin.
