Chinese BYD is preparing an extreme version of its Yangwang U9 sports car. The new modification called Track Edition promises to become the most powerful electric car in the world.
The usual version of the U9 has already shown – 1300 hp. And acceleration to 100 km/h in just 2.36 seconds. But BYD engineers decided to go further: Four electric motors of 744 hp will install four electric motors in Track Edition. Everyone that will give about 3,000 hp. total power. This is three times greater than that of the Formula-1 car.
According to the documents of the Chinese Ministry of Industry, the maximum speed will be 350 km/h, although the standard U9 previously accelerated to almost 392 km/h.
Externally, the machine differs little from the basic version: 20-inch wheels, a carbon roof, a fixed anti-wing and a large diffuser. Additionally, aerodynamic elements will be offered.
U9 is built on a 800 V platform, which allows you to charge the battery by 80 kW · h from 30% to 80% in just 10 minutes. Travel margin – up to 450 km in the Chinese CLTC cycle. A unique suspension gives the car the opportunity to even “bounce” and overcome obstacles.
