From September 1, 2024, passengers of long -distance trains will be able to land using biometric data. The corresponding government decree, adopted in February, enters into force at the beginning of autumn.
The new system will be available to users of a single biometric system (EBS). As specified in the apparatus of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, the technology will work only among those carriers who have the necessary equipment. At the same time, traditional landing methods will remain.
Earlier in the press service of the Center for Biometric Technologies (CBT) Reportedthat in the second half of 2025 in Russia a service will be launched in Russia to increase the level of previously registered biometrics for free. After passing the simplified procedure in the bank, users will be able to use all services of a single biometric system without restrictions.
