The press service of Sechenov University reported that university students have developed an innovative chewing gum “Reterix”, which helps maintain the health of the oral cavity. It includes probiotics and prebiotics that normalize the microflora and reduce the risk of caries and gingivitis.
The project was the result of the joint work of dentists, pharmacists and managers. For ten classes, the team not only developed the concept of the product, but also independently manufactured the first samples in the experimental production of the university. As Anna Turkina from the Institute of Dentistry noted, the project participants coped with the task, relying only on the advice of mentors.
The process of creating chewing gum included several stages: selection and mixing of ingredients, pressing, as well as packaging and marking. Students sought to achieve a soft texture to compete with popular brands.
