General Director of Roscosmos Dmitry Bakanov announced the creation of a digital double of the Russian orbital station (ROS). The development is carried out in parallel with the design of the station itself using domestic digital solutions.
According to Bakanov, a full design cycle is digitized to form an exact virtual copy of the station. This allows us to optimize the process of developing and testing systems before their physical embodiment. The main performer of the work is the rocket and space corporation “Energy”.
It is planned that the Russian orbital station will be brought into a polar orbit with an inclination of about 97 degrees. This location will ensure a complete overview of the territory of Russia and the Northern Sea Route, which is of strategic importance. However, this orbit is associated with additional risks, including an increased level of radiation.
