Deputies from the New People faction proposed entering a single free short number for messages about fraudulent calls. The initiative is directed to the Minister of Digital Development Maksuta Shadaev and provides for the creation of a simple notification mechanism for citizens.
According to the authors, the proposals, telephone fraud remains the main way to theft of money – it accounts for more than 45% of cases. The annual damage exceeds 200 billion rubles. At the same time, two -thirds of Russians regularly face Fraudülent Calls.
The current notification system has been fragmented: the victims have to contact the police, banks, to communications operators or Roskomnadzor. This creates bureaucratic barriers and leads to a loss of information for operational response.
A single number by analogy with “122” will automatically distribute messages by instances. The technical and legal framework for this already exists. The initiative is aimed at reducing the time between fixing the call and the beginning of the investigation.
