The Russian government approved the Max National Messenger for a mandatory pre -installation of electronic devices. The corresponding order was signed by the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Changes will enter into force on September 1, 2025.
The new messenger will take in the list the place of the VK messenger, which was mandatory to install since 2023. The Cabinet of Ministers reported that a multifunctional service will work on the basis of the Max platform to exchange information.
The platform, according to the government, is designed to safely communicate and provide access to digital services from the state and business. The beta version of the application is already available for users in Apps Store, Rustore and Google Play app stores.
A list of mandatory programs for 2026 was also approved. It added the HD TV online television service, which will be pre-installed on TVs with a digital control unit.
