Android Authority said that in the new Google Smartphones series Pixel 10 appeared QI2 technology – a standard magnetic charge standard. And Google had to go to some compromise for the implementation of this technology, as it turned out that QI2 support has its own nuances.
Google abandoned the already traditional function of reverse (reverse) charging, which was in the series of brand smartphones, starting with Pixel 5, and then in Pixel 6, 9 and 9 Pro XL. We are talking about the function of reverse wireless charging, known as Battle Share. This function made it possible to charge other devices by simply putting them on the rear panel of the Pixel phone. But in Pixel 10 it is absent again.
It turned out that the Pixel 10 series is equipped with Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. Just for its implementation, the reverse charging was removed from the “Google” smartphones. This is done because the magnetic system provides a strong connection with the charger, but creates physical obstacles to reverse wireless charging. Therefore, the company abandoned the Battle Share function in Pixel 10.
“The Pixel 10 series is equipped with a magnetic wireless charging Qi2 for a more efficient and reliable wireless charging (…) a set of magnets provides a strong connection with the charger, but creates physical restrictions for reverse charging. Although this means that the Battle Share function is currently not available to the Pixel 10, we are constantly studying future innovations that will improve the work with Pixel, ”the Google report said.
