Sony prepares a radical simplification of games development for its next console.
In new patents, the company describes the replacement of the usual girlfriends with compact PCIE payments that can be inserted into a regular PC or server. Such a card will contain key components of PlayStation and actually turn the computer into a full -fledged girl.
The solution should relieve the main pain of studios: traditional sets for developers are bulky, expensive and produced by limited batches. In contrast, PCIe cards are easier to replicate and use both locally and as part of remote “girls-servers”, which can be connected via the Internet.
The bond management between the board and the host system will provide a special Endpoint Management Bridge chip.

Thus, Sony seeks to maintain the exclusivity of the platform, but at the same time reduce barriers to developers.
If the idea is embodied, the studios will be able to quickly adapt to the PlayStation 6 and easier to test projects, and the ecosystem itself will receive more content without compromises in quality.
