NVIDIA, together with Carbon Robotics, introduced a robotic device Laserweeder G2, which uses lasers to accurately destroy weeds in the fields. The flagship model G2 600 is equipped with 24 lasers and 24 NVIDIA graphic processors, due to which it can destroy up to 10,000 weeds per minute – this is about 600,000 weeds per hour.
This is not a small garden device. G2 600 is a huge car 6 meters long, which stretches a tractor. Even the reduced version of the G2 200 remains large: its dimensions are 2.8 × 2.2 × 3.2 meters.

The device uses artificial intelligence and NVIDIA LARGE Plant Model to accurately recognize weeds, so as not to accidentally damage cultivated plants. According to the company, one Laserweeder G2 600 replaces the work of 75 people. The machine is autonomous, controlled remotely and can work for long hours.
However, there are drawbacks: the high cost, risk of fires in arid regions, as well as the danger to the eyes and skin from lasers.
