According to the latest leaks, the flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will receive two powerful nuclei with a frequency of 4.61 GHz and six additional nuclei for 3.63 GHz. GPU Adreno 840 with a frequency of 1.2 GHz will provide graphics. However, Samsung plans to use an improved version of the chip with overclocking up to 4.74 GHz in its future flagship Galaxy S26.
According to the Digital Chat Station insider, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 can score more than 4 million points in the Antutu benchmark.
The first smartphones with this processor will appear in Xiaomi, Honor, IQOO, OnePlus and Realme, but they will work at a standard frequency of 4.61 GHz. A faster version will appear in these brands later.
The official announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will take place on Snapdragon Summit on September 23. The day before, MediaTek will introduce its own smrent processor, the media write.
