In Ryazan, testing of the biometric fare in ground transport started. The first trolleybuses with Sberban biothermals reached the route 16a, which is transporting about 1,500 passengers daily.
This is the first project in Russia for ground city transport. Tests will be extended until October 2025, after which a decision will be made on a possible expansion of technology to other regions.
New terminals are integrated into a single fare, which allows carriers to receive full statistics of travel. Passengers can pay for travel without a bank card or travel ticket – just smile to smile.
Biometric payment takes only a few seconds, which is especially important during peak hours. The technology provides safety – biometric data cannot be lost or transmitted, and the recognition system is protected from fraud using photos or videos.
