Apple prepares a more affordable headset of the Vision Air mixed reality, the launch of which is expected in 2027.
According to the analyst at Ming-Chi Kuo, the novelty will become a lightweight version of Vision Pro: its weight will be less than about 40%, that is, less than 450 grams. This should significantly increase comfort with prolonged use, because many owners complain about the severity of the current model.
Another key difference is the price. Vision Air will cost about two times cheaper than Vision Pro: from $ 1750 against the current $ 3499. To do this, Apple will replace part of the glass elements with plastic, the titanium case with a magnesium alloy, and also simplify the sensors system.
Reducing the price will also ensure the transition from the chips of the M “M” to the iPhone level processors. It is assumed that the headset will receive A21, created according to the 2-nm TSMC process, which will maintain high performance at lower costs.
