According to the fresh report, Statcounter, Google Chrome strengthened its leadership in the market of desktop browsers, overcoming a mark of 70%.
In August 2025, the share of the browser reached 70.25%, leaving competitors far behind. In second place is Microsoft Edge with a share of 11.8%, which added only 0.01% per month. Apple Safari rose to 6.34%(+1.04%), and Firefox, on the contrary, lost his position and sank to 4.94%. Closes the top 5 Opera with a result of 2.06%.
On mobile devices, the picture is similar: Chrome holds 69.15%of the market, Safari – 20.32%, and Samsung Internet – 3.33%. Edge is almost invisible here – only 0.59%.
Despite the dominance of Chrome, competition is shifted towards the implementation of AI-functions. Microsoft is actively promoting Copilot Mode in Edge, Google integrates Gemini into Chrome, and Mozilla is criticized by adding AI to Firefox.
