The first unmanned tram transporting passengers in Russia began work in Moscow. It follows on route No. 10 from the Schukinskaya metro station to Kulakova Street, observing the set movement schedule.
The tram management software was fully developed by the Moscow Metro specialists without the involvement of external companies. During the tests, the vehicle overcame more than 8 thousand kilometers without violations of traffic rules.
The tram is equipped with a system of systems, including computer vision, high -precision cards and various sensors. This allows him to accurately stop, open the doors, respond to traffic lights and pass pedestrians. In accordance with the requirements of the legislation, an employee is located in the cabin for observation, which does not interfere in the management process.
According to the plans of the city authorities, by the end of the year, three more trams will be equipped with unmanned technologies. By 2030, their number may exceed 300 units, which will be about two -thirds of the entire metropolitan park. In addition, in December, tests of the first unmanned metro train on a large ring line at night without passengers will begin.
