The State Duma Committee on Information Policy considers the legislative regulation of the field of artificial intelligence (AI) necessary. The relevant statement was made by the head of the committee Sergey Boyarsky.
In autumn, parliamentarians plan to consider the second package of measures against fraud, which will include tightening responsibility for the use of AI technologies when deceiving citizens. According to the deputy, this will be the first step to the comprehensive regulation of this area.
Boyarsky noted that such measures will not only strengthen the responsibility of criminals, but also serve as serious prevention of violations using artificial intelligence. Now some attackers are considering such technologies as a light way of deception, however, tightening legislation will demonstrate the seriousness of the state’s intentions in the fight against any type of fraud.
Earlier it became known that the Russian government plans oblige Operators of communications, Internet providers and information platforms notify law enforcement agencies on the signs of digital crimes. The relevant initiative will be worked out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Councils, the FSB and Roskomnadzor together with the Prosecutor General’s Prosecutor General and the Investigative Committee.
