On September 24, 2025, Turkmenistan Chess Federation officially approved the “Mary” stage of the Grand Prix, to be held from October 7 to 12 at the multi-purpose sports complex in Mary.
Objectives
- Implement the President’s policy to boost sports and patriotic education
- Promote physical culture and youth initiatives in the “Bagtyýarlyk” era
- Prepare athletes for world and Asian championships and secure strong international results
- Select top players for the Turkmenistan Championship (Super League)

- Dates: October 7–12, 2025
- Location: “Köpugurly” Sports Complex, Mary

Tournament Format
- FIDE rules, Swiss system, 9 rounds
- Time control: 90 minutes per game plus 30 seconds increment
- Ranking by points; tie-breaks: Buchholz, head-to-head, most wins, wins with black, rapid play-offs
- All participants and arbiters must comply with international dress code
- Passport or birth certificate required for check-in
