The fourth meeting of the Turkmenistan-UN Strategic Advisory Council was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

On October 16, 2025, the fourth meeting of the Turkmenistan-UN Strategic Advisory Council was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, leadership and representatives of the country’s ministries and departments, the Deputy Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, chiefs and specialists of permanent missions of UN agencies, and others.

The agenda included the consideration of the Framework Program for Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2026-2030, discussion of joint actions to implement initiatives reflected in Turkmenistan’s priority positions at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, exchange of views on the implementation of the outcome documents of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), as well as the discussion of joint programs between Turkmenistan and the UN.

In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan emphasized the strategic and long-term nature of cooperation with the UN system, noting the significant contribution of UN agencies to the implementation of the country’s national priorities and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The importance of Turkmenistan’s initiatives put forward at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, covering the areas of peace and security, sustainable transport, digital integration, ecology, water resources, youth and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the promotion of the principles of neutrality and international law, was particularly emphasized. Following the meeting, representatives of UN agencies in Turkmenistan confirmed their readiness to closely cooperate with national partners to practically implement Turkmenistan’s international and regional initiatives, based on the country’s priority positions voiced at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, as well as to facilitate the effective implementation of the outcome documents of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).
