Brussels — Ambassadors of Central Asian countries and Mongolia met with Peter De Roover, Speaker of the Belgian House of Representatives. The meeting was regarded as a new stage of regional cohesion and international cooperation.

Speaking on behalf of Turkmenistan, the ambassador emphasized that Central Asia today is one of the most stable and trust-based regions in the world. He noted that the countries of the region consistently develop joint approaches to all major issues.
Belgium – Central Asia Relations: New Opportunities
The meeting discussed in detail the current state and future prospects of relations between Belgium and Central Asian countries. Participants highlighted the growing importance of Central Asia in today’s international context and Europe’s increasing interest in deeper engagement with the region.
Bilateral cooperation between Belgium and Turkmenistan was also addressed.

Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation
The importance of parliamentary dialogue was underlined. The possibility of holding a Belgium–Turkmenistan parliamentary friendship group meeting in March this year in Belgium was considered.

Future Areas of Cooperation
- Transport and logistics — new corridors between Europe and Central Asia
- Energy — sustainable sources and new technologies
- Climate — joint measures against climate change
- Education and culture — cooperation among youth, universities, and creative communities
At the conclusion, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in expanding parliamentary dialogue and broad cooperation.
