On January 30, 2026, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea, Begench Durdyyev, took part in an official working luncheon organized by the Commissioner of the Korea Customs Service with the participation of ambassadors from Central Asian countries.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the expansion of cooperation in the customs sphere between the Republic of Korea and the Central Asian states, exchange views on the development of bilateral relations, and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
During the event, participants discussed the creation of new cooperation mechanisms within the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” framework, strengthening mutual exchange of customs information, and participating in international conferences and projects organized by the Korea Customs Service. Special attention was given to opportunities for professional training, educational programs, and experience exchange.
In his remarks, Ambassador Begench Durdyyev noted that cooperation between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Korea Customs Service continues to develop steadily, emphasizing the active participation of Turkmen specialists in training and capacity‑building programs organized by the Korean side.
The meeting was assessed as an important step toward elevating cooperation in the customs sphere to a new level.
