On 3 February 2026, a meeting took place in Dubai between Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, and the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The talks were held on the sidelines of the World Government Summit, which this year brings together heads of state, representatives of international organizations, business leaders, and experts to discuss key global challenges.
Expanding Political and Economic Dialogue
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to strengthening Turkmen–Emirati cooperation. Special attention was given to political and diplomatic interaction, trade and economic projects, and prospects for expanding partnership in strategically important areas.
Rashid Meredov emphasized the importance of the Summit as an international platform that helps build trust and develop coordinated solutions in a rapidly changing world.
Support on International Platforms
The diplomats noted the effectiveness of cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries. They highlighted the mutual support provided by Turkmenistan and the UAE within international and regional organizations, which contributes to strengthening their strategic partnership.
Plans for 2026
The sides also discussed the schedule of bilateral events planned for this year, including political consultations, high-level visits, and new areas of cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the ministers reaffirmed their readiness to continue active dialogue and expand mutually beneficial cooperation at all levels.
