China completes testing of first hydrogen fuel train

The first intercity train powered by hydrogen has been successfully tested in China. This was reported by China daily.
The train was developed by the Chinese company CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co Ltd. The test run took place at its test line in Changchun City, Jilin Province in Northeast China.
The vehicle is equipped with a hydrogen fuel power system. The train’s average energy consumption per kilometer is 5 kWh, and its maximum range is over 1000 kilometers. It uses a hybrid power supply system with multiple energy storage devices and is capable of operating in a temperature range of -25 to 35°C.
The train was able to accelerate to 160 km/h. According to the source, the tests took place under full load and various possible scenarios.
