Continuous Developments in the Agricultural Sector

19.11.2024

Under the leadership of esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the agricultural sector, along with other sectors of our national economy, is continuously developing, and its export potential is being strengthened. Significant importance is given to the efficient use of land and water resources, the introduction of modern technologies, and the latest scientific achievements.

Turkmen scientists and specialists are carrying out relevant work to ensure the sustainable development of the sector in line with contemporary demands, to establish scientifically based crop rotation, and to increase production volumes. In this regard, cooperation with regions and other countries, as well as with relevant international organizations, plays a significant role. The regular holding of international exhibitions, scientific conferences, and business meetings in Turkmenistan on this topic clearly confirms this.

Turkmenistan, one of the first to implement the Sustainable Development Goals at the national level, actively participates in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. By supporting international efforts in this area, our country takes the initiative in developing forward-looking balanced solutions to address relevant issues. The continuous development of effective cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations and its specialized agencies, including the Food and Agriculture Organization, is clear evidence of this.

The continuous conduct of scientific research and studies in the agricultural sector, and the training of highly qualified specialists, are among the main conditions for the sustainable development of the sector. Thanks to the diligent work of agricultural scientists, relevant specialists, and farmers, crop yields are increasing, ensuring a reliable food base for our country.

The introduction of the “green” economy concept, which is an important requirement of the present time, into the agricultural sector helps to ensure sustainable development and ecological well-being. Global food security, being one of the main Sustainable Development Goals, remains an important issue in the rapidly changing conditions of the world economy. Under the leadership of our esteemed President, comprehensive work in this area is being carried out, resulting in the continuous increase in the production of high-quality, environmentally friendly, and competitive food products.
