On November 25, 2024, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D.Gulmanova met with a delegation led by a member of the US Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, a senator from Montana.
The Chairperson of the Mejlis introduced the guests to the main directions of internal and external policy of Turkmenistan, with the composition of national Parliament, work carried out in the country in the field of gender equality, youth policy, science and education, social sphere and also environmental well-being, expressed confidence that negotiations and meetings during this visit will contribute to further strengthening of bilateral parliamentary relations. She noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation relations with countries of the world, including the United States, based on the «open door» policy.
During the meeting, was emphasized the importance of conducting trainings and working visits organized for deputies and specialists as part of active cooperation.
The sides also paid special attention to the development of effective cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas, energy, agriculture transport and communications and education sectors. At the same time they expressed their readiness to support intergovernmental cooperation through parliamentary diplomacy, strengthen the legal foundations of these relations, exchange experience in parliamentary and legislative work.
