On November 26, at the conference “International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development 2024” (ITTC-2024) in Ashgabat, Umberto de Pretto, Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), spoke.
Umberto de Pretto addressed the modern challenges facing the transport sector. Among them, the IRU leader mentioned the training of qualified personnel and air pollution. He noted that the transport sector has committed to reducing carbon dioxide emissions to zero by 2030. In his opinion, this is a challenging but achievable task with the joint efforts of all parties.
The foreign guest also spoke about the need to reduce border crossing times. He emphasized that this would contribute to the efficiency of international logistics. Additionally, the representative of the international organization noted that one of the important conditions for solving many issues in the transport sector is digitalization and the implementation of modern technologies.
